Britney Spears Gets One Year in Jail!?

Britney Spears gets charged with possibly one year in jail on Friday for hit and run and for driving without a valid driver license.

Celebrity Crash: Life is not easy and for Britney and it gets tougher and tougher day-by-day. I really feel sorry for her. Seeing her crying I realize how hard it must be for her to deal with all this. Losing her kids and now going to jail, it can’t be easy to bear. It’s somehow her fault, that’s true, but I wonder if anybody from her life helped her and showed her the right way. It’s really sad seeing her like this.

Each charge carries a maximum sentence of a $1,000 fine and six months in jail, not the place you want to be when you’re trying to prove that you’re not all washed-up—as an entertainer and as a mother—at 25.

Arraignment has been set for Oct. 10 in Van Nuys Superior Court. Because the charges are misdemeanors, Spears will not be required to attend. The City Attorney’s Office mailed a letter to her Friday informing her of the charges.
