They say Christina Aguilera isn’t trying to hide the fact that she’s pregnant, but she is trying to hide that growing belly that’s holding that growing baby. Why else would she carry random paper awkwardly in her hand? Speaking of awkard, how about those jeans over those heels?

A lucky 10-year-old boy will get a chance to play an extra in Will Ferrell’s new movie, “Step Brothers,” after his father bought the role in a cancer-charity auction for more than $47,000. The money will go to the Cancer for College foundation run by a fraternity brother of Ferrell’s at the University of Southern California. The $47,100 high bidder was a man from Dalls that asked to remain anonymous, but did say:

“Winning this auction means a lot to me on a very personal basis,” the winner said in a statement released by the foundation. “I lost my mother to ovarian cancer a few years ago, so I feel fortunate that my 10-year-old and I are able to participate in an event involving Cancer for College and Will Ferrell.”

Ferrell came up with the idea to auction off a non-speaking part as an extra in his new movie. “We are overwhelmed with the response and generosity to the auction,” Ferrell said. “This money will help so many young people with their dreams of attending college.”

Mariah Carey got a nice win in court last week when a federal judge ruled that a copyright-infringement case against her lacked merit. Singer Rachele Chafir had sued Mariah back in April 2006, claiming that Carey’s hit “It’s Like That” was copied from her song “Sexy” and lifted key pieces for the chorus.

Chafir, who copyrighted the song in 2004, claimed Mariah had access to “Sexy” since it was available on a Web site, but U.S. District Court Judge Kimba Wood decided that wasn’t proof Carey or her collaborators had gone to the Web site or lifted the material, which wasn’t “strikingly similar” enough to be considered infringement. With “no genuine issues of material fact,” Wood closed the case.
