Immediately after Donda West’s death, Dr. Jan Adams claimed he would maintain his silence, saying ”I hold sacred the bond of confidentiality that exists between a patient and doctor,” and to speak out would be “unprofessional.” However, with his prior legal and malpractice troubles evident, the plastic surgeon is making the media rounds to proclaim his innocence.

Dr. Adams told the Los Angeles Times he believes 58-year-old Donda West likely fell victim to a heart attack, a pulmonary embolism, or possibly even an accidental overdose of painkillers following her November 9th breast reduction, tummy tuck, and liposuction.

“When she left this office, there was no problem whatsoever,” Adams told the newspaper. But he did prescribe Vicodin to help her deal with the pain associated with the invasive procedures and he speculates that she may have taken too many of the painkillers.
