The 2008 Oscar Nominations Announced

Despite the writers strike threatening the awards show, the 2008 Oscar Nominations were announced today. Among the top Oscar nominees were “Juno,” “Michael Clayton,” and “Atonement.” The movie “Juno” was nominated for 4 Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Actress for Ellen Page, Best Director, and Original Screenplay.

“Atonement” is up for Best Picture as well as Best Supporting Actress, Saoirse Ronan. The drama also received a nod for Adapted Screenplay, Art Direction, Cinematography, Original Score, and Costume.

Blockbuster “Michael Clayton” is also up for Best Picture and Best Actor, George Clooney. Michael Clayton is also in the running for Director, Original Screenplay, Original Score, Supporting actor for Tom Wilkinson and Supporting Actress for Tilda Swinton.
