Britney Spears has reportedly been meeting up with actor/director Mel Gibson “regularly” for over a month now! Insiders say the pair began meeting after Britney’s second hospitalization — which was just last month.

Although there is allegedly no romantic involvement, the relationship has spurred increased curiosity after Britney met Mel for dinner over the weekend. Recall that Mel is married — and sources say he only wants to help Britney.

“Mel and his wife Robin clearly say a woman in crisis and wanted to extend themselves in any way possible. There’s just a handful of people in the world who understands the kind of intense attention that Britney goes through, and how to raise a family with some semblance of privacy and how to keep one’s family intact and out of the limelight,” says the source.

“There are no exceptions, there is no agenda. It’s simply an act of human kindness – one neighbor reaching out to the other,” added the insider.
