Oscar Photos 2009: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly

The 81st Annual Academy Awards took place last night and the Hollywood celebs were looking great! Well, for the most part. When it comes to celebrity award shows, especially the Oscar Awards, looks are everything. In my opinion, it doesn’t really even matter if they win or lose, but whether or not they look good. Let’s face it, the ladies watch for the beautiful gowns, hair, and shoes (and maybe Hugh Jackman, too). Guys simply watch for the celebrity babes. So which celebrity ladies looked the best? After browsing hordes of Oscar photos, here are some notable female celebrities and how they stacked up.

First, let me say that I judged these ladies based on their overall looks. I used my expert opinion on their dresses, hair/makeup, overall sex appeal, and the unexplainable X-factor. So here we go. Love or hate her, actress Angelina Jolie takes top honors. Although her dress was black and simple, her look was that of old Hollywood glamour and she looked amazing! Natalie Portman, Heidi Klum, Alicia Keys, and Maria Menounos rounded out the upper tier of Oscar beauties. They all looked great and we’ve come to expect it from them!

Now, let’s talk about the ladies that looked good, but fell into the middle of the pack: Marisa Tomei, Penelope Cruz, Vanessa Hudgens, Jennifer Aniston, and Sarah Jessica Parker. Of this group, Marisa Tomei stood out and Sarah Jessica Parker found herself here only because of the massive amounts of Oscar cleavage she dropped. Her peek-a-boo breasts distracted from her horse-face just long enough for me to enjoy the look. Jennifer Aniston kept it simple, played it safe, and landed in the middle, as well. Vanessa Hudgens looked good. 

Lastly, let’s get to the 2009 Oscar disappointments. The sad part about these ladies is that a couple of them are absolute lookers, but their award-show look was not appreciated. Anne Hathaway and Jessica Biel almost made me cry. They are both physically stunning, but it didn’t work for me. Beyonce is gorgeous, as well, but seriously? No. Miley Cyrus was out in left field, too. She is just a few short years away from legal-hotness and she shows up looking like a silver Christmas tree? She’s younger than most attendees, so I can forgive her. And lastly, Lisa Rinna needs to give it up. Please. Stop.
