This has to qualify as the most unexpected celeb split of 2010. Rock star John Mellencamp and his wife, former model Elaine Irwin, have separated after 20 years of marriage and two children. Elaine was one of the reigning suoermodels of the late 80s/early 90s, until she was hired to star in one of Mellencamp’s videos. The two were wed shortly after.
