“The Green Hornet” topped the box office on this holiday weekend, with $34M over three days and a take of $40.5M expected by the end of MLK Day. “The Dilemma” came in a dismal second with an opening of $17.4M, possibly showing the leading man power of stars Vince Vaughn and Kevin James is waning.
“True Grit” had another outstanding weekend, adding $10.5M and enhancing its chances come Oscar time. “The King’s Speech” came in fourth with $9M, followed by “Black Swan” with $8.1M. Both Oscar-touted films added screens this week.
Rounding out the top ten were “Little Fockers,” hanging on well after the holidays with $7.1M, “Tron: Legacy” ($5.7M), “Yogi Bear” ($5.2M) “The Fighter” ($5M) and “Tangled” ($3.9M). Coming next weekend are Ben Affleck’s “The Company Men” and “No Strings Attached” starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher.
