Lea Michele plays the uptight, virginal Rachel Berry on the hit Fox TV show “Glee,” but her recent off-screen antics have some parents up in arms. The 23-year-old Lea’s not really a teen, but she plays one on TV, so some people expect her to be as innocent in real life as her TV alter ego.
OTOH, the actress is red hot right now, and has a career to promote, and promote she does with magazine covers like this one for Cosmopolitan and a recent racy spread in GQ, where Lea and other cast members posed as naughty cheerleaders in their underwear.
This type of behavior led one irate parent to say this to Fox News: “I think Lea Michele is sending the wrong message. She plays such a ‘good girl’ on ‘Glee’ and a lot of kids look up to her persona. Then she poses very provocatively on two magazine covers which makes my almost-13-year-old son very confused and offended. I find it frustrating as a parent who is trying to teach right from wrong to their kids and then you have things like this happen which is showing middle schoolers things like sex sells and all that goes along with that.”
It’s always something with these prudes, isn’t it? If your 13-year-old is “confused and offended” by the sight of a little cleavage, you’d better have a talk with him about the birds and the bees before he gets any older. And like it or not, those middle schoolers are going to figure out that sex sells, one way or another. See more sexy shots of Lea after the jump.
