Keira Knightley is currently showing her serious side co-starring with “Mad Men” actress Elisabeth Moss on the London stage in a production of “The Children’s Hour,” but she’s best known for her part in the insanely popular Disney “Pirates” films. Alas, the newest installment of the franchise “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” debuts in May minus both Kiera and co-star Orlando Bloom.
Keira looked back at her “Pirates” experience for British newspaper The Daily Telegraph: “I don’t know it’s kind of incomparable. “Pirates’ is a big huge Hollywood extravaganza. It’s based on a theme park ride so you’re not exactly diving into the theme park ride to grab the essence of it. It is what it is, it’s for fun and frivolity and I think there is a huge place for that, it’s escapism and we all need a bit of that. Turn our brains off and have a lovely time.”
