Ke$ha had 5 top-hits in one year like “Tik Tok” and “Blah Blah Blah”, and the girl wasn’t nominated a single Grammy this year, unbelievable. Ke$ha expressed her frustration by saying “I was disappointed that I didn’t get nominated, but I’ve only been around for a year”.
She continued by saying “I plan on making a lot more records, and hopefully one of them will be Grammy worthy. I’m friends with the Black Keys, and they were nominated for the first time this year [and] they’ve been around for a decade. That’s like half my life. So I really can’t be a brat about it”.
Ke$ha’s career was catapulted by her “accidental” appearance in Flo Rida’s number one single “Right Round”. It all began when Flo Rida requested female vocals for “Right Round” from his producer Dr. Luke, and it was Dr. Luke who suggested Ke$ha for the part. Ke$ha didn’t get one penny for doing the song and refused to be in the music video, but right after the world heard her unique voice, she signed a multi-album deal with RCA Records.
