Erratic singer/actress Courtney Love has found out the hard way that using Twitter to air your grievances can be costly. Love has reached a settlement with fashion designer Dawn Simorangkir which require her to pay a whopping $430,000, with the first payment due in cash next week.

In 2009, the designer, known as the “Boudoir Queen,” became involved in a dispute with Love over a $4000 payment, which escalated into the rocker unleashing a torrent of derogatory tweets. Simorangkir accused Love of ruining her business by calling her such epithets a “asswipe nasty lying hosebag thief.”

The combatants have been in negotiation since January, when the case would have gone to trial. No doubt this won’t be the last time a famous name is held responsible for statements made on the Internet.
