Singer Jewel had a major scare on Friday, when the car she was driving was hit broadside by a Volunteer Fire Truck. The incident was especially frightening because the 36-year-old singer is several months pregnant. After a trip to the hospital, both mom and baby were declared OK, as Jewel tweeted this morning. “Just a little sore and banged up but feeling so blessed. Dr said no working out so I’m going to take it easy this weekend.”

The singer also gave credit to her car for keeping both of them safe. “1 thing I do know is my car saved my & my baby’s life. Definitely going to get another Cadillac SRX! It absorbed all the damage and kept me safe!” Maybe GM will send Jewel and hubby Ty Murray a new Cadillac for the plug!
