Now that she’s done with “Hannah Montana,” Miley Cyrus is getting ready to go for grown-up stardom as she goes on tour for the first time in two years. The international tour will kick off in Quito, Ecuador at Estadio Olimpico Atahualpa on April 29. A tour source told E! News, “Miley has a huge fanbase worldwide. She’s pumped that her scheduled has opened up and allowed her to perform for fans abroad.”
A new tour this year could also pump up the rather anemic sales of Miley’s most recent album, “Can’t Be Tamed.” Interest in the album may be kickstarted by the release of Miley’s duet with Bret Michaels on the old Poison hit, “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.” The song was originally intended to be the second single off the album, but then those nasty tabloid rumors surfaced that the rocker was having an affair with Miley’s mom Tish— and that’s what broke up her marriage to Billy Ray Cyrus.
But things have changed, since the Cyrus family has reunited and the song will finally be released. Bret told to E! he’s happy the single would at last be heard. “It was going to be Miley’s next-step song, but because of that, they stepped back. It really bummed me out. I worked hard on that.” He added, “I think this is the song that will cross her over. If it happens, it’s going to be a big hit.” Hopefully, a rockin’ hit song will convince adult audiences that Miley’s not a little girl anymore!
