The pop star loves to ruffle people’s feathers, and she’s doing it again by playing a religious icon.

Lady Gaga loves to shock people, and the Catholic Church is not happy with her latest media-grabbing move. The pop star will play Mary Magdalene in her upcoming video “Judas,” and one church official calls the casting a “stunt.” Bill Donohue of the Catholic league for Religious and Civil Rights told Hollywood Life, “People have real talent, and then there is Lady Gaga.”

Donohue also accused Gaga of using the church to get attention. “I find Gaga to be increasingly irrelevant. Is this the only way to jet up her performance? This isn’t random, we are getting closer to Holy Week and Easter.” It sounds more like this nobody is using Lady Gaga’s current fame to get publicity for his own cause.
