Maybe Playboy founder Hugh Hefner should have waited for the first anniversary before putting his decades-younger bride-to-be on the cover of an issue as his wife. Just a day after the news came out that Crystal Harris had left Hef at the altar, photos of Playboy’s July issue have leaked, revealing that “Mrs. Crystal Hefner” appears on the cover. Oops!

The blonde former Playmate is posed wearing Hef’s trademark robe and Captain’s hat while holding the couple’s pup, which she took with her when she fled the Playboy Mansion this weekend. Hefner tweeted that the magazine had come up with an ingenious solution for the dilemma: “Recent events call for a special sticker on the July cover. Look for it on newsstands.” Sources claim that the lower half of his former fiancee’s photo will be concealed by a large red sticker saying, “Runaway Bride In This Issue!”

If this report from Page Six is true, Hef is lucky he got out of this romantic escapade with just a slightly bruised ego: “Crystal wanted to ditch Hef at the altar. Her plan was to walk up the aisle and say she couldn’t go through with it. The wedding was to be filmed for a reality special, and her refusal to marry him would be a sensation. She was looking for a tie-in deal of around $500,000 for the exclusive ‘I ditched Hef at the altar’ interview.
