The pop princess has confirmed that she’s engaged!

You can’t blame a girl for being excited when her guy pops the big question. Earlier today, Britney Spears left this tweet: “OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo.” E! later confirmed the engagement. The happy bride-to-be has been dating agent Jason Trawick since early 2010, and marriage rumors have been following the pair for the last several months. This won’t be Brit’s first trip down the aisle, since she has had a short and quickly annulled marriage to old friend Jason Allen Alexander, plus another with dancer Kevin Federline that lasted two years. Both weddings happened pretty quickly, so it’s likely a good thing that the singer has taken her time and allowed her relationship with Jason to develop slowly. After all the troubles Britney has had over the last few years, let’s hope she finds happiness this time around. Congratulations, Britney and Jason!
