“American Idol” had it all this season — talented singers, a David Archuleta for the prepubescent crowd, visits from pop royalty, stinging comments from Simon Cowell as usual, and jaw-dropping commentary from Paula Abdul. With all that provided on the show, why have some fans and observers found it a dull slog as the show builds to its David Archuleta vs. David Cook finale on Wednesday?

It seems contestants who were good but not memorable made for only mediocre television, according to show watchers. Where was the drama, the unpredictability, the oddball personalities? Where was the fun? I can’t believe I’m saying this… but maybe the show needs more idiots like Sanjaya?

We had not seen much of Brooke Hogan lately, but we ran across these photos taken at the 2007 Fox Reality Channel Awards, and figured it was time to give the girl her due. Speaking of girl, one of the pics below features everyone’s most-hated American Idol contestant ever, as in Sanjaya Malakar!

I guess Brooke felt sorry for him. Other than that particular photo, Brooke looks pretty good.

After 19 weeks, 11 lame theme nights, an Antonella Internet picture-fest, and a creepy Sanjaya later, the sixth season of American Idol has come to an end with Jordin Sparks taking home the gold. If you caught Tuesday’s show, you probably realized that Jordin locked-up the victory over Blake Lewis with her performances of Christina Aguilera’s “Fighter,” Martina McBride’s “A Broken Wing,” and Idol songwriting contest winner, “This is my now.”

I knew there was always something a bit whacky with Sanjaya Malakar, it’s his mother! Apparently she likes her wacky tobacky and I’m starting to think she was token while Sanjaya was in the oven. Well, it would explain a lot!  Jillian Blith, Sanjaya’s Mom, apparently got busted back in February 2005 in Pierce County, Washington with 310 marijuana plants.

The people have spoken and it looks like the Sanjaya train has run out of gas. Finally, after all the verbally butchered songs, the hideous and clownish hair styles, and all those “creepy eyes” he threw at 13-year old girls around the U.S., the people of America have given Sanjaya his walking papers and booted him off American Idol tonight.

I think most of us agree that Sanjaya is the one needing to go on American Idol.  Unfortunately Gina Glocksen was the one getting the boot, not him.

At this point in the competition it has to be hard going home, especially when you know there are others that should have gotten their plane ticket long ago.  I feel bad for Gina and anyone else that goes home before Sanjaya Malakar does.  I mean come on, losing to someone who sings as bad as a coyote howling at the moon has to damage your conscience just a bit!
