A while back we reported that Akon thew a kid off the concert stage where he suffered a concussion.  Well it looks like the time to face the music has come.  Akon is scheduled to appear in Fishkill Town Court Monday morning for the arraignment of the misdemeanor charge.

Back in April he was also being criticized for having simulated-sex with a 14 year old girl on stage.  Not knowing the girl was only 14, he later apologized for his actions.  Damn Akon, what else you gonna throw out there for us to gossip about?

This past week hip-hop superstar Akon scored yet a second week at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Senegalese star’s Don’t Matter kept his duet with Gwen Stefani on The Sweet Escape off the top, and gave him a rare one-two strike on the singles chart. That’s what I call domination! I dig Akon’s sound and I like the fact that he is pairing up with some of the music elite like Gwen and Snoop Dogg.

Gwen Stefani and Akon (looking for some street cred) will perform at Nickelodeon’s 20th annual Kids Choice Awards, to be hosted by Justin Timberlake.

The show will air live on Nickelodeon March 31 at 8 p.m. ET, with a tape delay on the West Coast. 

Akon’s debut album “Locked Up”’s success provided himwith instant heavyweight clout. Upgraded from writing songs and doing the occasional hook for B-, C-, and D-level artists, he tallied a multi-platinum album, was granted his own boutique label (which was used to spawn T-Pain), and became in-demand as an A-list collaborator — he worked with Young Jeezy, R. Kelly, Gwen Stefani, and even Elton John.

His second album, Konvicted, isn’t much different from the debut, even though it comes from a different perspective.
