Avril Lavigne Cleans Up Her Act in Vanity Fair Italy

Avril Lavigne seems to be trying to distance herself from the teenage punkette image that made her a pop star. The now 26-year-old Avril is trying to revive her sagging career with her new album “Goodbye Lullabye” album due out next month. Let’s face it, you’re not A-list anymore if your clothing line is in Kohl’s and you’re dating a D-list reality star like Brody Jenner. But it’s probably a step in the right direction that Avril has taken a little time out from her busy schedule of crawling from one Hollywood hotspot to another posing for the paparazzi to make another album. And how better can a has-been pop tart promote her new album that by posing in a bra for some fancy magazine, so it looks like “art?” These shots of Avril looking less ridiculous than usual are from Vanity Fair Italy, and she seems to be posing as an Italian housewife, except Madonna did it better in those Dolce & Gabbana ads. Avril Lavigne Fashion Show

Avril Lavigne was in New York promoting her clothing line, Abbey Dawn. As I look at these photos from her fashion show for her spring line of clothes, I can’t help but think of how anti-corporate Avril Lavigne used to be. Or at least it seemed that way to me. Not that people can not change, but I just find her fashion line a little ironic. I am usually a big fan of Avril and her signature “look,” but I’m not digging her duds today. I’m sorry Avril, but I still have faith in you.

Avril Lavigne cleavage pictures always catch my attention. I am a bit disappointed, but  not because of these sexy cleavage pictures of the singer. It is just that we do not get to see as much of Avril as some of us would like. Sure, Avril may not be the hottest female celebrity, but damn, she does have that certain something and we all know she has a bikini body that most women would kill to have. Avril Lavigne did a photo shoot for Prestige magazine, and this group of photos creeps me out! Avril got all decked out to look like porcelain dolls or something, and one thing is for sure, she looks like a doll. I’m used to Avril looking all punk and the rare bikini, but not all creepy like this. Yet I find her strangely arousing. Yikes, back to Avril Lavigne in a bikini!

  There had been questions regarding Avril Lavigne allegedly stealing songs written by once-collaborater Chantel Kreviazuk, but Chantel has since come forward and admitted that Avril did not, in fact, steal any songs. Either way, Avril had this to say regarding kicking Chantel to the curb:      “My decision to discontinue working with Chantal after co-writing together on my second record was simply based on the fact that we had no hits together.” But in related news, Avril is being sued by two songwriters who claim that her catchy hit “Girlfriend” sounds like one of their songs. According to the suit, “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend,” a song recorded in the ‘70s by power pop band the Rubinoos sounds a lot like Lavigne’s “Girlfriend.”

As Avril Lavigne rocked Scotland, her alleged plagiarism scandal has been grabbing headlines throughout the press, but Chantal Kreviazuk has changed her tune since we last heard from her. On Tuesday, the singer/songwriter issued a statement retracting statements she made to Performing Songwriter Magazine in which she doubted Lavigne’s writing abilities. “When I saw the track listing to Avril’s new record, it caught my attention that she had the same title as a song I had sent her a while back. When I heard it, I immediately realized that it was a coincidence. The songs have nothing in common. I have always maintained that the song on Avril’s album is completely different, having no similarity in melody or lyric, and Avril has in no way stolen my song. I simply never said that or thought it. My statements and any inference from my statements, which call into question Avril’s ethics or ability as a respected and acclaimed songwriter, should be disregarded and are retracted. Avril is an accomplished songwriter, and it has been my privilege to work with her.”

Avril Lavigne tends to rub collaborators the wrong way, especially when she steals their songs and never gives credit. Case in point, when she allegedly stole songwriter Chantel Kreviazuk’s “Sk8er Boi.” Chantel assures the world that it was her song, but also had this to say concerning some other material Avril walked away with: I find it funny that it’s in Performing Songwriter. I mean, Avril, songwriter? Avril doesn’t really sit and write songs by herself or anything. Avril will also cross the ethical line, and no one says anything. That’s why I’ll never work with her again. I sent her a song two years ago called “Contagious,” and I just saw the track listing to this album (The Best Damn Thing) and there’s a song called “Contagious” on it–and my name’s not on it. What do you do with that?

And when I say she is not my type I mean she is not dream celebrity, because she is still hotter than 90% of the women in the world. I would date her for her belt buckle, but until then I will just check out her photos.

The famous pop singer Avril Lavigne and her husband Deryck Whibley of Sum 41 have purchased a $9.5-million mansion in L.A. Must be nice for such a simple skater girl. What a sell out!  The husband and wife of 9 months have bought a magnificent Tuscan-style home in Bel-Air with three stories, eight bedrooms, and 10-1/2 bathrooms. Dang, that’s a lot of shitters! The new mansion also has an elevator, sauna and garage space for 10 cars. When’s the party?
