Paula Abdul Was Trippin’ on Idol

What is up with Paula Abdul? I know she’s usually more than a tad bit fruity, but last night on “American Idol” she was the whole fruit basket! Hollywood insiders say she’s hitting the pills pretty hard again, but I don’t know if they are prescription drugs or something else.
I knew Paula was off her chain when the show changed camera shots and she was leaning over towards Simon Cowell. At that point, it appeared most of her, including her left hand, was in his lap! Simon was cracking up and just could not get that smile off his face — so something was definitely up!
Carrie Underwood and Daughtry Dominate AMAs

Last night at the American Music Awards, American Idols took home the lion’s share of trophies, and both Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood were ”overwhelmed” at their respective levels of success – they each were part of an individual awards parade! However, I was let down by Carrie’s award acceptance speeches – she just didn’t seem all that excited to me. Each of the three times she won, Carrie would walk up and be handed the award, then she would flash a smile, thank a couple of people, and walk off – very anticlimactic.
Chris Daughtry, the lead singer for the band Daughtry, said backstage:
“The show didn’t make me who I am,” he said. “It just gave me a chance to show everybody else who I am.”

Kelly Clarkson Rocks Out Never Again
America’s “Idol” sweetheart, Kelly Clarkson, has once again become an angry young woman in pop/rock with “Never Again,” but she’s really not that mean. Kelly spoke about her new album, “People are probably going to be like, What happened to you?” she laughed.
In “Never Again,” Clarkson takes an ex to town for cheating on her and marrying the other woman. Lyrics include, ”I hope the ring you gave her turns her finger green/ I hope when you’re in bed with her, you think of me.” If you think it kind of has an Alanis Morissette fell from days of pas, it should. “You Oughta Know” is an obvious inspiration, as are a few songs by a rocker from a pre-Alanis generation.
