Sure, Jennifer Lopez is good looking, but I question whether I’d call her the most beautiful woman in the world. The folks at People Magazine disagree, because they’ve chosen the American Idol judge for that title this year.

Idol Shakeup! Ellen and Kara are Out, J.Lo is In!

The last few days have seen some major changes at “American Idol.” Simon Cowell’s departure has been known for awhile now, and numerous celebs have been mentioned as possible replacements. Then Thursday Ellen DeGeneres, who never seemed comfortable in her role as a judge, confirmed the rumors that she would be leaving the show after one season. The TV host Tweeted: “Dim the lights … I’ve voted myself off American Idol. It was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.” While Ellen’s departure seems to have been voluntary, the same can’t be said for Kara DioGuardi—she was unceremoniously given the boot. Although the deal is still in the works, look for singer/actress Jennifer Lopez to join the “Idol’s” panel next season. Still on board is Randy Jackson, and the front-runner for the third judge’s chair is Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler. The flashy frontman is currently in L.A. meeting with “Idol” producers. Industry insiders expect the new lineup to be in place on Monday, when Fox will present their fall shows to the Television Critics Association’s fall convention. It remains to be seen whether these changes will help the aging show’s faltering ratings.

J.Lo Wraps Up for Marie Claire

Jennifer Lopez kept most of her curves under cover for these overly demure shots in the new Marie Claire UK. The actress revealed her diet secrets, but not much else. “Just like anybody, I try to watch what I eat. There’s no big science to it, which is what sucks. One good trick is to have a goal – for me it may be getting in shape for a video shoot. Another is portion control. I love to eat everything and you pretty much can – a little piece of something fattening is not going to kill you. It’s when you eat the whole box that it’s going to kill you.” Maybe if she’d done a bikini shoot, more of us would have paid to see “The Back-Up Plan.”

“The Back-Up Plan” was supposed to be a big comeback for Jennifer Lopez, but it hasn’t turned out that way. The romantic comedy opened at #1 on Friday, but fell to #2 Saturday, behind “How to Train Your Dragon,” which is in its fifth week. “The Back-Up Plan” finished its debut weekend with a dismal $12.2 million. Two months ago, J.Lo parted ways with her longtime label. Sony. Is it time for the 40-year-old actress to start looking for a TV series?

Although I hardly believe these photos represent anything close to the orginal Jenny from the block, they are very well taken and I love the way the photographer has composed each of the shots.
