Kanye West and T-Pain “Good Life” Video
The weekend is almost upon us, so what better way to start living the good life than to hear Kanye West and T-Pain kick their version of the “Good Life.” It’s definitely a different type of video for the two hip hop stars, but it works with the song.
I’ve not been a huge Kanye West fan, or T-Pain for that matter, but I’ve liked the last few songs they have each put out, so maybe they are growing on me? Enjoy!
Grammy Awards Nominees: Kanye Leads the Pack
Confirming his standing as a groundbreaking producer and an artist whose appeal transcends the hip-hop genre, Chicago native Kanye West led the pack yesterday with eight nods when the nominations for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards were announced in Hollywood.
Dr. Adams Says Donda West Overdosed
Immediately after Donda West’s death, Dr. Jan Adams claimed he would maintain his silence, saying ”I hold sacred the bond of confidentiality that exists between a patient and doctor,” and to speak out would be “unprofessional.” However, with his prior legal and malpractice troubles evident, the plastic surgeon is making the media rounds to proclaim his innocence.
Dr. Adams told the Los Angeles Times he believes 58-year-old Donda West likely fell victim to a heart attack, a pulmonary embolism, or possibly even an accidental overdose of painkillers following her November 9th breast reduction, tummy tuck, and liposuction.
Kanye West Pulls Out Early on Victoria

Due to the death of his mother, Donda West, earlier this week, Kanye West has pulled out of performing at the 2007 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show that tapes tonight at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood (and airs on December 4 on CBS).
Kanye’s Mother Dies from Cosmetic Surgery
We reported yesterday that Kanye West’s mother died and that perhaps some type of complications were to blame. Well, preliminary information suggests Donda West died from “complications of surgery,” said a county coroner spokesman, that resulted from cosmetic surgery (tummy tuck and breast reduction).
A plastic surgeon who claimed to have operated on Kanye West’s mother before she died, however, said he did nothing wrong and that her death could have been caused by other medical problems. Hmmm?
Kanye West Foundation has released this statement:
“Kanye West, his family and friends would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and kind words that have come in from across the country since the death of his mother.”
Kanye West’s Mother Dies

Kanye West’s mother, Dr. Donda West, has died and reports indicate the cause to have been the result of complications from surgery. Kanye was in London when he got the news, but is back in route to the U.S. Kanye and his mother were very close - so close that he hired her as his manager.
Dr. West worked as the Chair of the English Department at Chicago State University prior to retiring and managing her son’s career.
If I were the press I’d keep my distance from Kanye for at least a little while. we all know what might happen if he loses his temper.
Kanye West Fights the Media
The press isn’t saying he’s an attention-digger, but Kanye West has never been shy around the press. That is why I find it so hard to believe Kanye and his bodyguard went “ape shit” on a photographer yesterday in South Houston, New York. Kanye even had to front a bit, saying if the film crew didn’t stop rolling there would be “a problem.”
That’s not what Kanye West said last night… “I need you right now!”
Kanye West Officially Crowned Victor in 50 Cent Battle

Just hours after Kanye West was officially crowned the victor in his much-hyped sales battle with 50 Cent, he turned up at GQ’s 50th anniversary party as the featured performer. But it was really more like a celebration for Kanye, whose “Graduation” widely outsold 50 Cent’s “Curtis” in first week sales. According to Nielsen SoundScan the score was 957,000 copies for Kanye compared to only to 691,000 copies for Fiddy.
“To be a champion, you’ve got to take out a champion,” Kanye declared last night, as an all-star crowd including Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Diddy cheered him on. Moments later, he called for his “theme music,” then broke into a performance of “Good Life.”
50 Cent Quits Singing… Already?
50 Cent, who is in a much-hyped battle of album sales with Kanye West, has just canceled several performances in Europe. MTV News said the 31-year-old rapper canceled performances at the MOBO Awards and the Vodafone Live Music Awards, both in London on Wednesday, and a performance for MTV in Germany on Friday. No details were posted on the rapper’s Web site, and Polydor Records, 50 Cent’s record label in Britain, wasn’t immediately available for comment.
MTV said the rapper canceled the appearances due to changes in his schedule. What gives Fiddy? Are you keeping your word with Kanye?
Kanye West Rocks Fiddy in Album Sales

Early sales figures show that Kanye West is winning the battle against 50 Cent. Yep, according to Nielsen Soundscan, Kanye’s new album Graduation has moved 431,000 copies on its day of release in the US, compared to only 310,000 copies of 50 Cent’s Curtis. Fiddy if going to have to eat his words!
