“The Social Network” Stays on Top

Over the Columbus Day weekend, “The Social Network” made enough friends to hang on to the top spot at the box office for its second week. The film about the founding of Facebook added $15.9M for a domestic total of $46.4M. Coming in second was Katherine Heigl/Josh Duhamel starrer “Life As We Know It,” which brought in $14.6M in its debut weekend, considerably better than most recent romcoms have done. Disney’s “Secretariat” came in a disappointing third with $12.6M. In its third week, “Legends of the Guardian” came in at number four with $7M, and the week’s other major debut, “My Soul to Take” took fifth with $6.9M. Finishing out the top ten were holdovers: “The Town” $6.3M, “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” $4.6M, “Easy A” $4.2M, “Case 39” $2.6M and “You Again” $2.4M. The box office should get a well-needed injection of adrenaline next weekend, when “Jackass 3D” hits theaters, along with “Red” and “Conviction.”

Katherine’s “Anatomy”

Katherine Heigl almost showed off more of her bod than she had planned when her dress suddenly headed south! The “Grey’s Anatomy”  actress was accepting an award for Female Star of the Year last night at ShoWest in Las Vegas when a strap broke and her dress started falling off. She had to make a fast grab before the bodice cleared her breasts. Host Billy Bush played gallant gentleman and helped Katherine hold the dress in place while she finished her speech.

Katherine Checks Out Of “Grey’s Anatomy”

Izzie Stevens has been AWOL for most of the current season of “Grey’s Anatomy” while Katherine Heigl took yet another hiatus from the series to shoot a film and take care of her newly-adopted baby. The actress was expected to return to the set this month, but so far, has not reported for work. It’s no secret that Heigl has been trying to get out of her contract ever since her film career took off a couple of years ago. Sources report that she has finally gotten her wish and will not return to “Grey’s.” So how will the show’s producers explain her absence? Since Izzie has cancer already, it shouldn’t be that hard.

These pictures of Katherine Heigl come to us today from the screening of her latest movie, “The Ugly Truth.” Katherine was in New York promoting this movie that comes out later this week. And judging from the trailers, the movie looks to be pretty good. It looks similar to “Hitch,” except that the potential dater is female, as played by Katherine Heigl, and the dating coach is once again male. And although the movie looks good, these photos of Katherine do not. I’m a big fan, but these photos and that hair DO NOT do this actress justice, especially since she was voted Most Desirable Woman of 2008. She’s still a hottie, but she needs to go back to the drawing board.

It appears that Katherine Heigl really is craving attention. Last week the actress was running through bikinis like there was no tomorrow, but I guess they are all in the laundry now because she’s back in shorts and a T-shirt. Their really is no end to the Katherine Heigl candid photos because they are still showing up. Damn, she just can not get away from that paparazzo outside her door! So I guess that witty Katherine Heigl came up with the perfect plan: Go to the exact spot where the photographer is waiting everyday all day, bend over and play with your pet, and then show him your puppies. Katherine Heigl was voted the “Most Desirable Woman of 2008” by the guys over at AskMen.com, which is really kind of a surprise if you ask me. Nothing against Katherine, but I don’t think anyone saw this one coming. They should re-name the annual contest “The Girl We Could Get in a Bikini This Month.” But seriously, Katherine looks great.

  Television star Katherine Heigl transfers her celebrity power to print this month, appearing both on the cover and in InStyle magazine’s October issue. As usual, Katherine looks fabulous. But then again, I am sure the people over at InStyle had a hand in glamming Katherine up. Oh, and maybe some minor airbrushing, but that’s par for the course in this day and age.
